GoodFinds helps you save, rank, and share the places you love. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles, where it goes, who else can see it, and how you can remove it. We keep the footprint small on purpose.

GoodFinds uses Sign in with Apple or Google. There are no passwords. We receive your email address and, where the provider supplies it, your name. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, we only ever see the private relay address Apple generates.
When you use GoodFinds, we store the data you create in the app:
This lives in our database (Supabase). Your private notes and chats are never shown to other users — the app has no way to display them to anyone but you.
GoodFinds has a social side, so some of what you create can be seen by other users. You control it, and nothing is visible to the open internet unless you publish a list.
Anyone can follow you without asking, and following alone reveals nothing — what a follower sees is decided entirely by your own switches.
To function, GoodFinds sends limited data to two service providers:
Neither provider receives your name or email. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
If you grant location access, your location is used only in the moment — to centre the map on where you are and to anchor “near me” requests. It is never stored on our servers and is never tied to your profile.
When you pick a screenshot to import places from, the image is sent for one-time processing to extract the venues named in it. We do not keep the image, and we do not access your photo library beyond the picture you choose.
When you invite a friend, GoodFinds opens your phone’s own contact picker. We never read your address book. Your contacts stay on your device, are never uploaded to our servers, and are never used to suggest people to you. The app receives only the single contact you tap, and only so your Messages app can open with the invite already written — you decide whether to send it.
If you choose to share a list publicly, that page shows your chosen display name and your ranked places only — never your notes. Turning sharing off makes the page stop working. This is the only part of GoodFinds visible without signing in.
If the app hits a fatal error, we log the error message and technical stack trace so we can fix bugs. We also record basic product-usage events — for example, that a place was saved or a search was run — to understand which features are useful and improve the app. This analytics data stays in our own database (Supabase); we do not use third-party trackers, advertising SDKs, or share it for cross-app tracking.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. This permanently removes your account and every row of your data — rankings, saved places, notes, follows, your username, and chats. Anyone who followed you stops seeing any of it. It cannot be undone.
Cached venue reference data (restaurant names, addresses, and photos) is shared, non-personal reference data and is retained.
GoodFinds is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
