ALWAYS JOY is a seasonal izakaya that opened on Wing Lok Street in Sheung Wan in March 2025 — a project from Yardbird co-founders Matt Abergel and Lindsay Jang, staffed by the team from their closed restaurant RONIN and serving a menu inspired by it. The people who keep naming it aren't chefs: a bartender, the director of Hong Kong's street-art festival and a visiting Los Angeles tattoo artist, each asked on camera where they eat here.
