New York

Thai Diner sits on the corner of Mott and Kenmare in Nolita, opened in 2020 by Ann Redding and Matt Danzer of the Michelin-starred Uncle Boons, and runs their Thai cooking through the format of an American diner. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Three New York chefs — a Village baker, a NoMad chef-owner and a Michelin-starred pastry chef — send people here.

It’s great because I don’t like making reservations and you can always get in. It’s probably the restaurant I’ve eaten at the most in the last five years and I like the lunch. I dream about the eggs and roti with Thai sausage. I also love the khao soi, the crab rice, and the sundae (Uncle Boon’s Famous Coconut Sundae). It’s my favorite dessert in all of New York.

Thai Diner. Hefty portions. The best Thai meal you're going to have in New York City.
