Where Nobu Matsuhisa actually eats in Tokyo

chef and co-founder, Nobu restaurants · 7 picks

Where does Nobu Matsuhisa eat in Tokyo? Nobu Matsuhisa has named 7 places in Tokyo: Wakiya, Tonkatsu Maisen Aoyama, Unagi Obana, Sarashina Horii, Tohryu and 2 more. Each one is listed below with the source, in their own words where they gave them.

Nobu Matsuhisa opened Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills in 1987 and later started the Nobu restaurants with Robert De Niro. He divides his time between Los Angeles and Tokyo, and in Tokyo he names places that do one thing: tonkatsu at Maisen, eel at Obana, soba at Sarashina Horii, gyoza at Tohryu. For Chinese food his family goes to Yuji Wakiya's restaurant in Akasaka and lets the chef decide the meal.

Whenever we’re in Tokyo, my family and I visit his restaurant and let the chef create an omakase meal for us.
