The restaurant is an homage to his upbringing, showcasing the best of a particular French culinary tradition – the Lyonnaise bouchon. Lovely ambience, great ingredients treated well and served with no fuss. Classical, simple brilliance.

I recommend Josephine, by my good friend Claude Bosi, on Fulham Road, for its great atmosphere and food, and Sabor on Heddon Street for delicious shareable plates. Both are spot-on if you're looking for a diverse and eclectic dining experience that truly captures the essence of London's food scene.

I only get to have dinner out maybe five or six times a year, but I was lucky to go during the soft launch. I took my [eight-year-old] son Acey, who loved it – Claude is one of his godparents, so he’s known as Uncle Claude.
